Io Burgard moves easily from the real to the fantasized world and vice versa, thanks to the multiple media she uses, from drawing to sculpture, from fresco to bas-relief. Her fluid, rounded forms, cast in plaster, are possible translations or continuations in volume of the drawn line. Their white color sometimes designates a void filled with mental images, sometimes represents porous forms. Elastic, dripping, somewhere between mineral and organic, between figuration and abstraction, these forms create a circuit and delimit a space pierced by numerous openings.
