Claudio Coltorti and Io Burgard worked side by side between 2011 and 2014 at Jean Michel Alberola's studio at Beaux Arts.

IO BURGARD

Born in 1987 in Talence, France. Lives and works in Paris, France. News: La Bête dans la jungle, Musée Régional d'Art Contemporain de Sérignan from April 7 to September 16, 2018. Her works provide a sculptural dimension to drawing, through resin and the plaster frame, according to a bas-relief principle that engenders a third form, neither drawing nor sculpture but both, which she sums up with the formula 1+1 = 3. In 2015, Io Burgard completed a one-year residency at the Seloncourt leather goods factory, for the Fondation d'entreprise Hermès. Her work is on show at the Palais de Tokyo until January 7, 2018, as part of the exhibition Les Mains sans sommeil , Fondation d'entreprise Hermès curated by Gaël Charbau.

CLAUDIO COLTORTI

Born in 1989 in Naples, Italy. Lives and works in Paris, France. In Claudio Coltorti's poetic paintings, every shape and surface is meticulously crafted to create a harmonious, luminous and bewitching whole. He prepares his canvases with skin glue, which he spreads with a card, a technique used in Germany. For Claudio Coltorti, volume and movement are essential notions that form an important part of his work. Claudio Coltorti obtained his DNSAP diploma from the Beaux-Arts de Paris with the congratulations of the jury. His work was presented in the exhibition Felicità 17, diplôme des félicités, Palais des Beaux-Arts, Paris. In 2016 and 2017, Claudio Coltorti took part in the group exhibitions Seconde Ligne and La Ligne Rouge - Chapitre trois, Galerie Maïa Muller, Paris.
