In her sculptural work, Gretel Weyer transforms simple, everyday objects into fantastical situations that trigger the imagination. In this way, her work could be seen as a joyful celebration of childhood and innocence, in a fable-like atmosphere, against a backdrop of nature that oscillates between the deep forest of origins and the enchanted garden, and in a familiar iconography that borrows as much from popular imagery as from the settings of social and realist literature \u00e0 la Mark Twain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gretel Weyer's work hybridizes a literary object, pictorial representation schemes and the grammar of cinema.
